A new image from Netflix’s “Shadow and Bone” Season 2 shows that a beloved character is returning

Shadow and Bone

A beloved character from the first season of Shadow and Bone on Netflix will return.

The best-selling Grishaverse novels by Leigh Bardugo, including the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology, were adapted into the fantasy series.

The Grisha tailor Genya can be seen slumped over the Queen of Ravka in a recent TVLine image. She appears extremely upset. It is Genya, also known as the Queen, in her first-ever public appearance from the upcoming second season.

Genya’s reintroduction to the narrative and the visceral tension between her and the Queen in this picture immediately elicit many intriguing thoughts about what the series’ upcoming episodes will entail. The picture suggests that the Queen of Ravka is no longer under quarantine because she is worried about contracting her husband’s “illness.”

SPOLIERS for the first season’s story

According to ScreenRant, Genya confessed to Alina in the program’s first season that she is a spy and soldier for the Darkling, that she supports the extent he will go to defend Grisha, and that this comes before their friendship.

After being mistreated by the King for years, Genya eventually got her long-awaited revenge by poisoning the King of Ravka, as was later revealed. The Queen might have learned the truth about what Genya did, which would account for both her severe demeanor and Genya’s obvious grief. Because the Queen informed Genya of what the Darkling had done after Season 1 of Shadow and Bone, Genya might also be upset.

But towards the end of the season, the Darkling had subtly manipulated Alina into giving up her Sun Summoner abilities.

The second season will debut on March 16, 2023.
