Solo E was born in Detroit and moved to Chicago as a teen. He was exposed to music at a young age, starting to sing at the age of 6, began making music at 17, and entered the industry in his early 20’s. This started the journey to soon being able to open for major artists like Mindless Behavior, Soulja Boy, Yung Jeezy, Tyga, and Mike Posner. Yet, there were moments of struggle that led to major growth. Solo E relates, “there was a time in my career where I had the opportunity of a lifetime, which was singing with a management company that would take me to the next level. However, I needed to go through a stage called artist development. I personally felt I was a solid artist already, but the management company did not see it like that. So, going through what I went through was a big challenge for me. It opened my eyes in so many ways. Now I can sing better, write better music, look more presentable for the camera, and more.”

This growth has taken Solo E to the point where he is set to drop the anticipated single “Ride,” a discussion on relationships, heartbreak, and loyalty. It will be available in September. Additionally, he is working on an EP to be released in October that reveals his real-life battles with street life, mental health, and spirituality. Solo E’s music is spiritual and healing and is influenced greatly by soul and gospel and artists such as Aretha Franklin, Jodeci, Sam Cooke, Tyrese, and New Edition.
