Intimate Pandemic Wedding of Don Cheadle: “Just Me and Her and Our Kids and Our Dogs”

The 58-year-old White Noise actress opens up about the “little” party that took place amid the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in the most recent edition of PEOPLE.

Cheadle, who has two children, Tai, 28, and Imani, 26, with Bridgid, 54, recalls that there was just the two of us, our children, our dogs, and the minister in the backyard.

What is the best aspect of marriage?

Cheadle makes light of “the tax benefit.” “Actually, our accountant made a proposal to us. “You guys have to do this,” it says. Please complete this.” Cheadle continues, “I’m privileged to be in this relationship,” despite his jokes.

During a June 2021 guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor made his marriage status public for the first time.

Wanda Sykes, a guest host, started the discussion by asserting that she owed the actor an apology. The comedian said, “I believe you texted me at the beginning of the year and told me you just got married. “Oh no, Don and Bridgid caught the epidemic,” I thought.

She said, “I was like, ‘What the hell happened, man?'” ” before acknowledging that her reaction to Cheadle wasn’t entirely amicable. I believe my text to her said something along the lines of, “Hey, if you’re happy, I’m happy for you.” I said, “Cheadle went Hollywood.

When Sykes revealed to Cheadle that she had no idea he and Coulter weren’t already married, the Black Monday actor said that he could see how she may have arrived at that conclusion. Given that we were together for 28 years prior to being married, Cheadle answered, “Yeah, I mean, that makes sense. You are blameless in my eyes.

I don’t even call him kids anymore; I’m blessed to be close to my “adult-ren,” he says. They are incredibly real and un-Hollywood, which I appreciate.
