Intel’s next-generation chips will compete with Apple’s M1 series, according to a leaked roadmap.

An Intel roadmap was recently leaked, revealing some interesting details about the company’s upcoming chip lineup. According to reports, the company is working on a low-power processor that will likely compete with Apple’s ARM-based M1 chipsets.

Team Blue’s main roadmap leak, according to Twitter account AdoredTV, focuses on Intel’s 15th generation processors, dubbed “Arrow Lake.” The roadmap also demonstrates how the chipmaker intends to outperform Apple in Cupertino. Rather than more powerful desktop processors, the company intends to concentrate on its upcoming mobile processor lineup. They are expected to place a strong emphasis on energy efficiency while also increasing productivity.

Intel will collaborate with TSMC, the world’s largest chipmaker, to accomplish this. It plans to pool its resources to use advanced 3nm process technology, according to reports. TSMC is also the primary chip manufacturer for Apple’s processors. In addition, multiple cores are expected in the new Arrow Lake processors, which will improve performance and efficiency. In other words, future laptops will be able to perform tasks with less power consumption, similar to the architecture of mobile chips.

This indicates that Intel is taking Apple more seriously as a competitor, though it appears that it is still lagging behind the iPhone maker for the time being. The chips are slated for release in 2023, according to this roadmap, but Apple already has three M1 variants available on the market. In addition, the company is developing next-generation processors for these chips. As a result, the new Intel chip has a chance to catch up to future Apple chips. However, these are only educated guesses.
