3. Turn Electronics Off
Believe it or not, but even unused electronics like a PC can waste as much as £60 of energy annually when it’s left on while not in use. Instead of allowing this to happen, you should be shutting these electronics off during the nighttime and on the weekends.
4. Lighting Timers and Motion Sensors
One of the things you can do to improve the energy efficiency of your building is using motion sensors. That way, you can have the lights automatically turn off when the sensor doesn’t detect motion. This can reduce expenses by as much as 30 percent.
5. Service Your A/C
You will find air conditioning filters can account for as much as 30 percent of the total amount of energy used by the system. By getting your filters cleaned and routinely maintaining them, you should be able to boost the efficiency of it.
6. Update Technology
By replacing old and outdated technology in your office, you should be able to make significant improvements in your energy efficiency. You want to check various things including the energy rating labels. That way, you will be able to monitor its efficiency before making your purchasing decision.
7. Keep Doors and Windows Closed
One of the easiest things you can do to improve the energy efficiency of your building is by keeping windows and doors shut when someone isn’t using them. This alone can end up saving you as much as 10 percent on heating bills annually. This is true both in the colder and warmer months.
