A fan-made teaser for Constantine 2 envisions Keanu Reeves returning as the renowned Hellblazer from D.C. Comics and his upcoming conflict. An older D.C. franchise is returning as the D.C. Universe (formerly known as the DCEU) moves in a new direction. Reeves will reprise his role as the renowned Hellblazer after playing John Constantine in 2005. Reeves had long proclaimed his desire to reprise his role as Constantine in any foreseeable sequel. After nearly two decades, Constantine 2 finally announced that it was in the works earlier this fall.

Fans are speculating about John’s upcoming journey in Constantine 2 even though no new information has been revealed regarding the sequel since it was first announced. In a recent fan-made Constantine 2 trailer, Screen Culture offered its hypothesis as to what the follow-up would be about. The trailer shows Constantine against new threats and demons several years after the events of the 2005 movie. See the fan-made trailer for Constantine 2 below:

Everything We Know About Constantine 2, Starring Keanu Reeves

Francis Lawrence, who directed the first Constantine, will direct the sequel. In place of the original screenwriters Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, Akiva Goldsman was chosen to script Constantine 2. Alongside J.J. Abrams, Goldsman will co-produce Constantine 2. Hannah Minghella and J.J. It remains to be seen if any significant D.C. characters from the supernatural side of the franchise appear in the sequel, but some fans are hopeful Peter Stormare, who played Lucifer in Constantine, will return to reprise the evil character.

There is currently no information regarding the start date of the main filming or the anticipated release date for Constantine 2. Lawrence has voiced a desire for Constantine 2 to receive an R rating, which would affect the plot. Additionally, it hasn’t been known whether new D.C. Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran would be involved depending on when Constantine 2 was approved.

Setting Up The Justice League Dark Universe With Constantine 2

There may be a chance to build the Justice League Dark reality, as Constantine was never situated in a recognized D.C. continuity. Constantine 2 may be the prelude to the Justice League Dark series on HBO Max, in which Abrams serves as an executive producer. Additionally, because the sequel has been approved, this might completely replace the Constantine reboot that Abrams was working on, but HBO Max rejected it. It is unknown if the reboot and Madame X will find new homes, though they are reportedly both being shopped around. Ideally, Constantine 2 can be incorporated into the new universe if Justice League Dark goes ahead in the upcoming years.
