The collaboration aims at helping MyVoice cope with challenges preventing it from providing legal authorisation to those having no access to iBank accounts and the official eSignature.
Kaunas, Lithuania (November 24, 2020) – Formed by two social activists Kristofs Blaus and Janis Erts in early 2011, MyVoice/ManaBalss.lv is a popular Latvia-based civic organisation working in digital democracy and public engagement.
MyVoice is a platform for Latvian citizens to promote their initiatives for further submission to Saeima, the Republic of Latvia’s parliament. The organization makes and promotes digital tools that help in the general public’s participation in legislative decision-making processes.
MyVoice mission is to help Latvian residents support their proposals in the Latvian parliament via a digital medium. The organization enables interested Latvian citizens to file petitions and perform lobbying activities to assist in Latvia’s democratization.
Every day thousands of unique Latvians access the MyVoice platform for online petitioning and lobbying activities. Therefore, they need a powerful and legally valid authorisation system. iDenfy will offer them a reliable identity authentication system that will ensure that only legit people are using MyVoice. Besides this, MyVoice engages with Latvian citizens who want to make meaningful participation in policy-making also at the municipal level.
Imants Breidaks, the CEO of MyVoice/ManaBalss, says, “The partnership with iDenfy enhances the effectiveness of citizens’ digital participation provided by MyVoice, which already is globally unique, and scales it cross-borders. We hope that this precedent will also encourage the development of digital participation in policy-making processes internationally making them truly inclusive and democratic.”
Domantas Ciulde, the CEO of iDenfy, says, “We feel privileged to have partnered with MyVoice. The initiative they have taken to strengthen democracy via a digital medium is appreciable. We’re pretty confident that our identity verification solution will make their way easier to persuade the general public to promote their initiatives in the national parliament of Latvia“. He further says, “Our powerful remote identity verification solution will enable this non-profit public NGO to verify and authorise legitimate Latvians scattered across the globe who want to be part of this noble initiative“.
iDenfy is a Lithuania based identity verification provider that helps businesses improve their security by providing them with advanced AI-enabled identity verification technology. Companies from different industries leverage their solutions.
MyVoice says, “We are looking forward to partnering with iDenfy, and we believe it will enable them to scale national solutions worldwide“.
iDenfy‘s goal is to turn a customer’s device into an ID scanning and facial recognition system that makes it fast and easy to capture and verify their ID and other credentials to meet KYC and AML requirements. Real-time ID scanning and facial verification are already used on websites and mobile applications, helping to reduce the risk and minimize fraud for online transactions. This allows customers to perform daily operations from their homes minimizing the need for employees in a physical location. It also avoids the costly and time-consuming process of manual documentation required for submission and verification.
iDenfy was founded in 2016 at Kaunas University Technology Park by childhood friends Gediminas Ratkevičius and Domantas Čiuldė. In Lithuania, the company was awarded LRT Start-up of the Year in 2018. iDenfy provides real-time identity verification service for the financial, sharing-economy, and betting industries.
