The season closing of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World aired on December 23, 2022, and Rita Baga, the second runner-up, captured viewers’ attention. To compete against Canada’s defending queens, the brand-new season brought in rival queens from the US, the UK, and Down Under (Australia). The show was the sequel to the first international drag competition, Drag Race UK vs. The World.

Rita appeared with fan favorites Ra’Jah O’Hara and Silky Nutmeg Ganache, UK queen Vanity Milan, Canadian sisters Stephanie Prince and Icesis Couture on Canada’s Drag Race: Canada Vs. The World. Rita triumphed in two Maxi Challenges while running. She won the “Spy Queens” acting challenge, in which the queens played the lead roles in RuPaul’s action-packed blockbuster film Spy Queens and the female group’s competition. Together with Victoria and Anita, Rita made up “Team Touche.” With their classic rendition of the Drag Race original, “Bonjour, Hi,” the group dominated the competition.

Rita Baga, whose true name is Jean-Francois Guevremont, was born in the Canadian suburb of Boucherville, Quebec, but currently calls Montreal home and works there. Before Canada’s Drag Race, the queen rose to fame in 2007 after doing a Sister Act medley at Cabaret Mado in Quebec. Rita had the chance to establish her reputation in 2014 when she debuted her first act, “Bagalicious,” at the Cabaret above Mado.

Rita was chosen to appear in the first season of Canada’s Drag Race in 2019. Rita participated in Celebrity Big Brother’s first-ever season in Quebec after finding success on the program. She finished in 12th place after 29 days. Rita has recently been named the presenter of Drag Race Belgique, RuPaul’s Belgian offshoot. The debut of the program is pending.

Alongside Jimbo, Lemon, BOA, and Scarlett BoBo, Rita participated in Canada’s Drag Race season 1. The “Eh-leganza Eh-xtravaganza” couture challenge, the “Single-Use Queens” fashion line challenge, and the “Star Sixty-Nine” commercial challenge, in which the queens created advertising for imaginary legal firms, were the three Maxi Challenge competitions she won during her stint. Rita finished second to Priyanka in the competition’s conclusion.

Through her Instagram account, @ritabagaz, fans may follow the Drag Race participant. When Rita appeared on Drag Race, she teased, “This time, I felt 100% myself. I wanted to return to display more of my character, including my sensitivity and goofiness. After saying, “This is what having fun peeks like,” she ended third. Her Instagram account largely showcases her comical appearances and advertises her new fragrance line, “LunaireXSolaire.” More than 180,000 people follow the Drag Race Belgique host on the website. On Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. The World, Rita tied for third place. The show’s thrilling conclusion, including a worldwide, all-star battle to the end, is currently streaming on WOW Presents Plus.
