About 1,700 seals were found dead on the coast of the Caspian sea. This was an excruciatingly painful scenario which was seen by the people who are living along the coast of the Caspian sea. The Russian officials have informed that it has not been known what caused the death of these seals. It is not known whether these seals were killed by some kind of predator or not. Until information has been found about this matter, we can say that these seals are killed by natural causes. However, it is strange that so many seals have died through natural causes and that too at the same time.
1,700 Deaths Of Seals Found On Caspian Sea
The regional officers who were located near the coast have mentioned that almost 1,700 dead seals are found on the coast. A broader inspection is being conducted on this matter. The head of the Caspian Environmental Protection Center, Zaur Gapizov has mentioned that although 700 seals were found dead on the coast initially, it is for sure that about 1700 seals have found their end on the coast of the Caspian sea.
Deaths of seals in these mass numbers were found earlier as well. There has been no kind of trace of poison in the bodies of these seals. It is possible that no external agent has been responsible for the death of these seals.
Mass Deaths Of Animals In Future
Mass deaths of animals have been found in the past as well. There are different types of whales which have literally jumped on the shores of the seas and have met their deaths. It is believed that animals like whales and seals can commit suicide on a mass scale.
The arenas of animal psychology are looking into this matter at the moment. Unless the experts find any kind of poison or effect of any predator within these seals, they have concluded that these seals are indeed killed by natural causes.
Will This Mystery Be Ever Solved?
There are several mysteries of nature which we have not been able to decipher till now. There are such events like the mass deaths of seals which can invoke our scientific interest and make us think about whether animals can commit suicide or not.
