The ideal Chi-Yu build for Tera raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokémon Scarlet

The Fire-/Dark-type Chi-Yu, one of the four Ruinous Legendary Pokémon found in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea Region, may offer the strongest potential builds for the difficult Tera Raid bouts that involve extremely powerful animals in the postgame.

If the conditions are right, Chi-Yu may do damage that almost eliminates a Tera Raid Pokémon in one strike because of its powerful Special Attack and Special Ability.

Chi-move Yu’s set divides players’ attention between high-damage assaults that use the Same Type of Attack Bonus (STAB) and debuffs for the Tera Raid Pokémon they are up against. The former tactic relies on Dark Pulse and Flamethrower, while the latter is accomplished through Nasty Plot and Taunt.

The Fire-standard type’s attacking move is Flamethrower, which has 90 Power. Dark Pulse has a similar amount of power and a 20% chance of making the target flinch. In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Nasty Plot reduces the Special Defense utilized to defend a Tera Raid Pokémon from certain attacks. Taunt has additional subtleties, limiting an opponent to damaging moves for the following few turns.

What Chi-Yu Needs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Best Nature and Equip

Beads of Ruin, Chi-special Yu’s attack, automatically reduces all Pokémon’s Special Defense by 25%, making it a very potent weapon when combined with Nasty Plot and the previously stated Special Attack moves. To advance this tactic even further, Chi-Yu can have a Modest Nature added to it by either capturing a Legendary with this feature or using a Modest Mint obtained from a Delibird Shop. It will increase Chi-Special Yu’s Attack at the expense of its Attack stat. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet players who want to deal damage with one of the strongest Fire-type moves are strongly encouraged to modify their Legendary.

Since the Expert Belt increases super-effective damage by 20%, trainers who include Chi-Yu on their Tera Raid squad may have luck using it on their Pokémon. The Expert Belt is the cherry on top after players complete their construct. It works in conjunction with the enhancements provided by Modest Nature and the modification of a Tera Raid boss Pokémon’s stats through Beads of Ruin or Nasty Plot. Even the highest star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, are no match for the devastating offense that the finest moves of Chi-Yu can create when combined with astonishing power.
