The classes that rule the Arena and Battlegrounds
PvP is the ultimate competitive activity in any MMO. PvE, in comparison, is way easier because the enemies are scripted to behave in certain ways, thus are easy to predict. Other players are more challenging to fight. For some players, dominating the rankings of this activity is the goal they’re working toward. If that’s your jam, here are the most popular PvP classes in WoW TBC Classic. This way, you won’t have to farm WoW TBC gold for too many characters. There is no particular order to this list, so being first doesn’t mean it’s the best and the last isn’t the worst.
In a feature where surviving has more importance than dealing damage, Resto Druids are great at keeping everybody alive even without the use of WoW TBC Classic items. They also have various crowd control skills that are useful in any situation. Druids are pretty mobile as well, making them hard to pin down and defeat.
As healers, they’re one of the priority targets of the enemy, but they’ll prove to be difficult to defeat. This kind of healer is especially important in team battles, as they don’t have enough damage-dealing abilities to handle 1v1s.
Like the Resto Druid, Discipline Priests offer as much healing as the former, with the addition of extra durability and more offensive skills. Disc Priests have all kinds of shields, instant heals, and the Pain Suppression ability to help them weather even the strongest of attacks. Then they have Mana Burn and Dispel Magic, some offensive skills the Druid lacks.
They’re not as mobile, though, and a very well-coordinated assault can kill them. However, in the fast-paced battles of the arena, being able to weather one assault should give enough time for the DPS of the team to cut down the enemy’s numbers.
Rogues are a popular pick in PvP, due to their ability to stealth and ambush others. Those two things are used by Subtlety Rogues to great effect in the Arena. Sure, there are detection spells and abilities. When besieged by attacks from teammates, they have no choice but to keep their focus away from the sneaky rogue.
In 1v1s, they have to be quick. Rogues have high burst potential, but once they’re on cooldown, they’re vulnerable. They have to be sure that the enemy is something they can kill in one shot with all their abilities because there’s no coming back once they’ve used up all their tricks. Spending some WoW TBC Classic gold for some useful trinkets can help these Rogues survive the Arena.
In terms of durability, there’s nothing better than an SL/SL Warlock. The combination of Soul Link and Siphon Life is too powerful and keeps the Warlock alive through all kinds of attacks. Opponents focus on the summon? It’s just as tanky as the Warlock, and the latter will just keep on draining their life. They focus on the Warlock instead? The summon can deal with them as the Warlock kites and throws curses at them.
Truly, the SL/SL Warlock is a build made for PvP. Only a few classes can counter this kind of build, and even then, it’ll be a tough battle.
Despite their rather low Stamina and the unfortunate tendency to fall in one or two hits, Frost Mages are pretty popular in PvP. Team fights rely on these mages to slow down opponents or keep them from acting altogether. With various icy cold spells and the mage staple Polymorph spell, it allows the team to take control of the field and decide when and where to defeat the enemy.
Alone, they rely on superior mobility and a few tricks to keep away from attacks. They have Shimmer, Ice Block, and Prismatic Cloak for example. These abilities let them avoid damage, though if they’re all in cooldown the mage is doomed.
Well, it’s still up to the player to choose, and if none of these classes speak to you, it’s alright to go for something less meta. It’ll be a harder journey to the top of the PvP rankings, but that makes the effort worth it.
At any rate, the most important thing is to enjoy the class you’re playing. If you aren’t enjoying PvP even with a class you prefer, maybe that’s the fault of the activity not agreeing with you. Otherwise, there could be something wrong with your build, equipment, or rotation.
That’s all on the best classes for PvP in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Enjoy playing these classes and racking up the wins for your WoW TBC Classic account!
