What’s It Like Living In North Dakota?

When and if you choose to make North Dakota your next home. You will need to know the reasons why people like to move there, right? In this context, we have mentioned some pros and cons to live in this place.

Pros of Living in North Dakota

#1: Low Unemployment Rate

The rate of unemployment is considerably low. It is one of those cities which did not have any major effect after the mighty recession in the year 2008. The reason for it is based on the fact that North Dakota always had a surplus. Also, this is one of those places which offers something or the other to the locals, those who want to make it their next home, etc.

Naturally, it is an amazing place for all those who are risk takers, who want to progress in life and make their families happier than before!

#2: Approach is Not Urban

Locals or residents who live in North Dakota feel a very subtle non-urban way of lifestyle. That’s the reason why this place is good for those who like such an approach. This place gives a very subtle and slow-paced life. However, North Dakota is best for the upbringing of the family. The cherry on the top – it has the lowest crime rate as compared to other parts of the US.

#3:  Affordable Cost of Living

North Dakota is quite cheap in terms of the cost of living. This place makes anyone comfortable for the same reason. Here you will find the best transportation services, excellent amenities, and low rates for goods or services. Keeping all these points in mind, we can say that this is the best place you can raise medium to large-sized families.

#4: High Education System and Opportunities

In North Dakota, you will find the best universities and colleges. This means you don’t have to commute to another state for the sake of good education. Interestingly, in this state, your child can even go to a leading agricultural university. Also, a flight school “The University of North Dakota” is known for the quality of education. All these universities are quite affordable.

Drawbacks of Living in this Place

#1: Shortage of Houses

Unfortunately, the housing system here in North Dakota is not excellent. Not that the housing structure is bad or something. But real estate isn’t much activity here and because of that, there is always a shortage of houses. Immigrants and people who want to relocate are higher in rate – the main reason why finding the best house in North Dakota is always a hassle.

#2: Bad Weather

North Dakota is considered wild in terms of weather. There are extreme weather conditions. Winters are longer than expected and are very painful to pass. But it is not a big deal for all those who had been living in similar weather conditions. Aged souls and babies particularly find it hard to bear this weather.

#3: North Dakota is Not Diverse

This place lacks recreational diversities. There are not many cultures which make this place a bit dull. Interestingly, the locals of this place are workaholics and don’t like to indulge in entertainment. The reason for being a workaholic is the harsh weather!
