Apple iPads will no longer function as the House Center to manage Home Kit products with the release of iOS 16.

Apple acknowledged that the modification would take effect upon the release of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, and the Home Pod 16.

Consumers will require a Home Pod mini, Apple TV, or Home Pod to access the capabilities because the Home hub’s assistance for the iPad will be discontinued. Users may use Siri to securely control gadgets with the Home hub.

With Home Pod, Home Pod mini, or Apple TV, users can also enjoy Home Hub

Apple reportedly stated that after the iPad has iOS 16 compatibility and is upgraded to it, the device would no more be regarded as a home hub. This data will be displayed in the Home application once the phone has been upgraded to iOS 16.

According to the home application, “A home hub is essential to the full benefit of capabilities including getting notice from peripheral devices and letting guests operate their house. Unless sharing residences are likewise updated to the most recent version of Home Kit, users will not be enabled to access them. As a home hub, the iPad will not more be authorized.

Most people may be disappointed by this shift, but iOS 16 is introducing a ton of additional capabilities for the home automation. The home application will include a fresh genres feature and a revised homepage tab

Backing for Matters, a revolutionary smart house connection protocol that has widespread corporate backing, will be added with the iOS 16 upgrade. The firm’s decision to stop supporting the iPad home hub may be explained by the impending Matters assistance.

According to recent reports, iOS users may report spam SMS texts after installing the iOS 16 upgrade. When an SMS is tagged as garbage, Apple and the phone’s carrier will get the text’s number and contents. The messages app in iOS 16 will get a new feature called “Report Junk.” But for now, the function will only be accessible in the US.
