WHAT YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT MERCEDES: INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS CAR MANUFACTURERS

The Mercedes brand turned 119 in 2021. Today, the Mercedes-Benz automobile brand is faithful to tradition, an example of elegance, and an advanced position in the automotive industry, just like in the first year of its existence. Mercedes-Benz seems to be a brand with the most transparent reputation and no white spots in history.

But this is not entirely true. At least when it comes to history. January 29, 1886 Karl Benz received a patent for his first car. This day was the birthday of the car, and we have collected a few interesting facts concerning the major creation of Karl Benz – the Mercedes car.

The most costly Mercedes is a $5 million car that is fully covered in diamonds. This technical and jeweled masterpiece may be found in one of the Saudi prince’s garages. In the meantime, we are only saving up for such a Mercedes, in the world capital of luxury, people with different income levels can easily take, for example, a Mercedes S Class for rent in Dubai. This is because rental services have long become understandable and affordable. Many people, when moving to a new country or just traveling, resort to rental cars providers, as it is incredibly convenient and opens up many opportunities.

Since 1930, Mercedes has been producing special cars for the Pope. The first such model was the Mercedes-Benz Typ Nürburg 460. In 2012, Mercedes-Benz gave the Vatican a new popemobile based on the ML SUV (W166) as a gift. By the way, the current pope fundamentally refuses the popemobile during his public appearances.

World famous entrepreneur Steve Jobs only bought Mercedes cars and drove them without any use of license plates. California law allows this, but only for the first six months from the date of purchase. Jobs used this, and six months later he handed over the car back to the salon and bought a new one.

Mercedes as a brand has proven its reliability in the most extreme situations. For example, in 1998, the Georgian president was shot in a Mercedes S600 car. Despite the fact that several automatic bursts were fired at the car and even hit from a grenade launcher, the head of state remained safe and sound.

In the history of the Benz company, there is also its own armored car. Moreover, the armored rubber “Benz” – the world’s first armored railway vehicle – was developed and created in Russia, by the Russian branch of the German company in 1911-1912.

In the US state of New Jersey, on one of the graves you can see a thirty-six-ton granite monument, made in the shape of … the iconic Mercedes Benz car. And all because the American guy Ray, who died at the age of fifteen, dreamed more than anything else in the world of getting a driving license and buying this particular model car. With the help of a wealthy brother, his dream came true, however, already posthumously. The prototype for the tombstone was a 1982 Mercedes Benz 2400 Diesel limousine.

The slogan “one engine – one person” has been Mercedes AMG’s credo for more than a decade. And this indicates that one expert is responsible for each engine assembled at the brand’s factory, who checks the condition of the assembled mechanism and puts his signature on the documents, thereby fully taking responsibility for its quality. At the dawn of engine technology, Mercedes-Benz showed great care for every engine that was installed on their prestigious cars. All 6.3V8 and 3 M-100 6.9 Mercedes engines were totally manufactured and subjected to a series of quality checks.

Mercedes pioneered many of the innovations we see today. For example, an airbag was first installed by Mercedes in the 1981 S-Class model. Several years after its installation, it can be said that the pillow has become the most impressive contribution to saving lives ever recorded in automotive technology.

The history of this car is definitely impressive and undoubtedly influences the fact that this brand is leading the market after so many years.
