Johnson, who plays the title role in Black Adam, addresses the burning subject of whether or not the Justice League will make an appearance in the eagerly anticipated DCEU movie.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has dropped hints on whether or not the Justice League will make an appearance in the forthcoming DC Extended Universe film Black Adam. Johnson’s Black Adam will be one of the greatest formidable DC Comics characters to be featured in the DCEU. His debut feature, Black Adam, has been in the works for years, but it will finally hit cinemas next month after a long and tortuous production process. The DCEU is pushing the Shazam series in a new path by recasting Black Adam as just an anti-hero, despite the character’s historical role as the titular hero’s archenemy.

Johnson’s solo work recounts the bleak backstory of Teth-Adam, a former slave of the Kahndaq who is granted godlike powers. Sabbac & Intergang are DC villains that Black Adam will be facing, but the anti-hero also will attract the attention of the Justice Association of America. Hawkman, Cyclone, Atom Smasher, & Doctor Fate will form the Golden Age team to pursue Black Adam before the Justice League was formed.
Black Adam’s incorporation into the DCEU opens the possibility of him interacting with heroes from other franchises. Johnson was recently asked by Fandango if any participants of the Justice League would make an appearance in Black Adam. This is especially pertinent in light of the Justice Society’s involvement in the film. Johnson did not confirm nor deny, instead providing the following information:
Who Else in the Justice League Might Be Black Adam?
Since Black Adam received the go-ahead to begin production, Johnson has made frequent public statements about just how his picture will permanently alter “the order in the DC Universe,” referring notably to the Justice League heroes. There have been speculations of a number of characters making an appearance, although in theory any of them could show up. In all likelihood, any appearance by a member of the Justice League in Black Adam would be brief and unimportant. If they didn’t able to keep that bombshell under wraps, it would be shocking if Black Adam had more than one member. If only one member of the Justice League appears in Black Adam, it should be Superman, played by Henry Cavill, who has been linked to the picture since at least 2013.

Although the DCEU has expanded even after Justice League’s critically and commercially flop in 2017, the studio’s plans for the DC team remain mysterious. But with Black Adam joining the DCEU, he might be the ideal roadblock that propels Warner Bros. With this newfound information, the Justice League franchise can be brought back to life. Not only will the squad have a formidable foe, but it might also be a chance to include Shazam, bringing Shazam & Black Adam into direct conflict for the first time (barring a Shazam 3). Only time can tell if any members of the Justice League appear in Black Adam, which releases in theaters around the world in less than a fortnight.
