Ben Reilly casts Peter Parker in Marvel’s rendition of Hell in the most recent Amazing Spider-Man issue. The demonic clones of Spider-Man and Jean Grey, In the ongoing Dark Web crossover with the X-Men, Chasm and Madelyne Pryor, have partnered together. From the depths of Limbo, where Pryor reigns as the Goblin Queen, they have unleashed a powerful demon invasion upon New York. Ben Reilly’s Chasm has great intentions for Peter Parker as they seek retribution and what they believe they are entitled to.
Spider-Man and Chasm eventually engage in combat in the brand-new Amazing Spider-Man #16 from Zeb Wells and Ed McGuinness. Spider-Man is naturally shocked by the former Scarlet Spider’s dark corruption because he previously saw Ben as a brother and hadn’t seen him since before Ben turned into Chasm.
While in the hospital, Peter even gave Ben the go-ahead to assume the role of Spider-Man (As demonstrated in the most current Spider-Man Beyond plot). However, Ben lost his copies of Peter’s memories at the end of that run, and he sank into a puddle of psychotropic goo. Convinced Ben that Spider-Man was to blame for his memory loss due to this sinister combo, which also altered him (when it was, in fact, Beyond). By fooling Spider-Man into going to Limbo to save J. Jonah Jameson and Robbie Robertson, Chasm has started the first stage of his plot.
Spider-Evil Man’s Clone and Marvel’s Hell have joined forces.
Chasm is now much more than just a scary mirror for Spider-Man because of the information he learned about spells and curses from Madelyne. As an illustration, he summoned the enormous tentacled creature and employed spells to lock JJJ, Robbie, and Peter in Limbo. Similarly, Chasm and Pryor created a mystical curse that grants the victim’s memories in addition to stealing souls. By the end of the Dark Web, it is evident that Chasm wants to possess Spider-soul Man.
This issue reveals Chasm’s lethal new power upgrades, in which he shares Spider-skills Man’s, and that Madelyne has made him a novice sorcerer. Now that Ben Reilly can generate energy weapons using his webbing and spider sense, he is a formidable force to be reckoned with. After being cast into Limbo, Peter awakens at some otherworldly desk job where demons play the parts of his boss and coworkers in this horrific nightmare.
If Peter can escape that nightmare and investigate this world further, he will need someone who knows more about Limbo and what it might hold (such as Magik). Spider-Man is in for a big surprise when he discovered that Mary Jane Watson, the Black Cat, and Ms. Marvel had all entered Limbo. It is part of a massive plot by Chasm that could result in him tearing Peter’s soul out. Spider-struggle Men in this ongoing event is only just getting started after he was condemned to Marvel’s Hell. Marvel Comics is now selling the Amazing Spider-Man #16.
