The state joins the growing number of Indian states that are trying to convince Tesla’s billionaire CEO and founder Elon Musk to establish an industrial unit, Karnataka on Tuesday projected itself as the Electric Vehicle (EV) hub of India and the ideal location to establish a manufacturing plant.
Several Indian states like Telangana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu have already invited Musk to set up shop.
With over 400 R&D facilities as well as 45+ EV startup companies and an EV cluster close to Bengaluru, Karnataka has emerged as the EV hub of India. Mr. Elonmusk, Karnataka could be a great place to establish a Tesla plant. Bengaluru was already Tesla’s first location within India, Karnataka Minister for Medium and Large-scale Industries Murugesh R Nirani tweeted.
