The first significant How I Met Your Father cameo features pop artist Meghan Trainor in addition to the reappearance of classic HIMYM characters like Barney Stinson. How I Met Your Father Season 2: Meghan Trainor’s Appearance As Sophie’s Neighbor
Season 2 of How I Met Your Father features an appearance by singer Meghan Trainor as Ramona, Sophie’s neighbour who was hired to take pictures during her at-home delivery. When Ramona goes into labour early, and her midwife isn’t present, the commotion is made much worse by Hilary Duff’s Sophie lying and claiming to have witnessed numerous home births. Romana, Sophie, and Valentina are all screaming as they deliver the baby in the birthing tub in one of the episode’s most iconic scenes.
Although this portion of the episode from season two of How I Met Your Father was removed, promotional photos show that Sophie eventually took pictures of Ramona. Her newborn, who Future Sophie explains was named “Ryleigh.” Ramona’s guest appearance as Trainor was extremely dramatic for her first on-screen acting role, especially considering that it was mostly set in a tub that was temporarily filled with shrimp. In the Future of How I Met Your Father, it is hoped that Trainor’s character will be able to return for a less disorganised plot.

The neighbours of the main characters in How I Met Your Mother weren’t frequently introduced, but episode 2 of How I Met Your Father is largely focused on the gang’s interactions with others who reside in their apartment complexes. Charlie and Ellen are throwing a building party to convince their neighbour Rachel to speak to Ellen again. At the same time, Sophie and Valentina decide to assist Ramona, played by Meghan Trainor, with her home birth. The spinoff is laying the groundwork for characters like Romona to make subsequent appearances in How I Met Your Father since it focuses more on the protagonists’ neighbours than HIMYM did.
Furthermore, since Sophie assisted Ramona in giving birth to her child, the characters have developed a bond that might logically last longer than just one episode. When Future Sophie, played by Kim Cattrall, reveals her son the name of Ramona’s baby, she uses the word “nightmare,” which could be a reference to the infant or her view of the name. Ramona will probably run into Sophie again if she refers to the child as a nightmare. Season 2 of How I Met Your Father will feature a few more guest stars, including Barney Stinson and John Corbett’s persona, but Meghan Trainor could make a future appearance.
